SJ23 Track & Field: New 4x1 school record and Pietrak wins double at District Day 2

The SJ23 Track and Field team continued their success on Thursday, April 10th, during the second day of the TAPPS 6A District Championships.
Chris Pietrak – District Champion - 1mile Race

Pietrak secured his second title of the meet by winning the 1-mile in 4:27. He took the lead with 400m remaining and steadily increased his advantage to win the event by a second, finishing with a strong sprint.

Bentley Johnson, Colette Maduagwu, Stephanie Rennie, and Aaliyah Phillips-Robinson - 4x100m Relay School Record

Having set a new school record at the John Cooper Dragon Invite weeks prior, the girls' 4x100m relay team aimed to repeat their success. They broke their own record again in a strong race, battling closely with St. Agnes Academy for first place. Ultimately, the Lions finished second but will look to achieve even faster times at the regional meet.
