A Night to Remember: Seniors Honored, Lions Triumph 9-0

Senior Night success! SJ23 girls soccer celebrates their graduating leaders with a dominant 9-0 win.
The SJ23 girls soccer team delivered a resounding statement of their playoff intentions with a decisive 9-0 victory over Incarnate Word. From the opening whistle, the Lions controlled the tempo, applying relentless pressure and creating numerous scoring opportunities. The goals came in waves, with Ana Caldentey leading the charge with a hat-trick (3 goals). Caroline Suire added a brace (2 goals), while Kate Callahan, Maddi Gredvig, Molly Kate Herbert, and Roberta Gonzalez each contributed a goal to round out the impressive scoreline. The team's balanced attack and cohesive play proved too much for Incarnate Word to handle.

This victory serves as a powerful momentum builder as the Lions prepare for the postseason. Victories in their remaining regular season matchups against The Village and St. Agnes will be crucial in securing a home-field advantage for a playoff game and setting the stage for a deep playoff run.
Beyond the impressive win, the evening also held a special significance as the SJ23 community celebrated Senior Night. The team's senior class was recognized for their exceptional leadership and dedication throughout their high school careers. Their contributions, both on and off the field, have been invaluable to the program's success. SJ23 expresses its sincere gratitude for their years of commitment and wishes them the best in their future academic and athletic endeavors. The entire Lion community eagerly anticipates witnessing the next chapter of their journeys.

Recognized seniors include Ana Caldentey, Sophia Hugenberg, Jenna McGuire, and Caroline Suire.
