The game started with a bit of tension as Lanier managed to score a run in the top of the first. However, our Lions responded immediately! Camila Melendez ignited the offense with a clutch double to left field, bringing the score level at 1-1.
The second inning saw the Lady Lions take control. Some heads-up base running, capitalizing on a Lanier error and a passed ball, put us ahead. Ella Delaune then delivered a powerful double to right field, extending our lead to 4-1.
The momentum continued into the third inning, with Olivia Riemann and Grace Miles each driving in runs to further solidify our advantage. But it was the fourth inning that truly sealed the deal! Our Lady Lions exploded for eight runs, showcasing their incredible hitting prowess. Alexa Ramirez launched a stunning two-run homer to center field, setting the tone for the inning. Emma Morrison followed with an RBI double, and then a series of timely hits from Jaelynn Talasek and Brooke Bengel, along with a Lanier error, pushed the lead even further. On the mound, Alexa Ramirez pitched three flawless innings, striking out eight and allowing no hits.
Our Lady Lions’ bats were on fire, racking up 14 hits in total. Emma Morrison led the charge with three hits, while Jaelynn Talasek and Olivia Riemann each contributed multiple hits. Grace Miles had a fantastic game, driving in three runs and showing great speed on the bases with two stolen bases. The team’s aggressive base running was a key factor in their victory, totaling five stolen bases for the game.
