Aguilera and Pietrak named District Champions after Day 1 of District Meet
Day one of the TAPPS 6A - District 4 Track & Field Championships was a success! With two Lions capturing district champion titles, and three more lions earning regional qualification for placing top 4 in their event.
Maximiliano Aguilera ('27) - District Champion - Pole Vault Aguilera, a top-seeded vaulter in the South TAPPS Region, competed in the pole vault event. Displaying excellent sportsmanship throughout, Aguilera secured first place on his second attempt. He will now advance to the regional championships, where he anticipates achieving even greater heights. Congratulations, Max!
Chris Pietrak ('25) - District Champion - 3200m Race Pietrak ran a patient race, battling for third and fourth position by the end of the first lap. A quick surge moved him into second place. He then took control of the race in the final two laps, securing victory with a 1:07 final lap. This impressive finish earned Pietrak a gold medal and a spot at the regional championships. Congratulations, Chris!
