Band Director
Applications are being accepted for the position of Band Director, beginning immediately. This is a part-time position with the highest priority given to candidates with teaching experience at the high school level.
St. John XXIII College Preparatory is an independent, co-educational, Catholic high school, located in the western Houston suburb of Katy, Texas. Opening in 2004, our mission rests on Four Pillars which reflect the papacy of our patron, Pope St. John XXIII. This is accomplished by forming students into men and women of character, equipping them to be successful in this life through rigorous academic study, and by fostering a love for Christ with an identity rooted in Him.

Responsibilities include:
- Supporting and living out the values of the Gospel as taught and proclaimed by the Roman Catholic Church.
- Teaching Band classes and directing the overall Band Program, which includes performing at sports events, evening concerts at Christmas and in the spring, and other school events and activities.
- Committing to spiritual, personal, and professional growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in music, or Music Education.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proven success in teaching at the secondary level.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, digital technology, and social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Catholic secondary school teaching experience.
- Master’s degree in the field.
- Teacher Licensure/Certification, or twelve (12) credit hours in education coursework.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 40 pounds, using proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or move around the classroom and campus as needed.
- Ability to use a keyboard (or an alternative input device) and other office equipment.
- Ability to read information in printed material and on a computer screen, often for extended periods of time.
General Information:
- This position is classified as – Regular Part-Time.
